Union for International Cancer Control (UICC)

Leading global action on cancer, UICC supports the cancer community through collaboration, knowledge sharing, and advocacy. It aims to reduce the incidence, morbidity, and mortality of cancer and improve the quality of life of cancer patients. The oldest and largest global membership organisation dedicated to the fight against cancer, representing all cancer types across the cancer care continuum. UICC's mission is to unite and support the cancer community to reduce the global cancer burden, to promote greater equity, and to ensure that cancer control continues to be a priority in the world health and development agenda. UICC is launching a grants opportunity to support high-impact CSO-led projects at the national level driving progress in the introduction and scale-up of HPV vaccination. This initiative aims to prevent more than 90% of HPV-attributable cancers, including cervical cancer, particularly in low- and middle-income countries. Following the Russian invasion of Ukraine, UICC set up a Solidarity Fund in response to its members’ requests to bridge funding into the region to support the needs of cancer organisations struggling to assist patients affected by the conflict. The UICC General Assembly 2024 was held on 8 October 2024. During the General Assembly, UICC members received a review of UICC’s activities since the last General Assembly and received a presentation from our incoming President on what plans we have for the organisation in the next couple of years. In addition, full-member organisations elected the members of the UICC Board of Directors and the President-Elect for the next two years (2024 – 2026).
