Alan B. Slifka Foundation

The Alan B. Slifka Foundation supports biomedical research and treatments for sarcoma, cancer, and autism spectrum disorders, as well as initiatives that cultivate a world safe for difference, ensure Israel is a tolerant, equitable and democratic Jewish state, and perpetuate the Jewish people in Israel and the U.S. Founded by Alan B. Slifka in 1965, the foundation aims to create a world safe for difference, while honoring Jewish values and supporting Israel as a democratic state. The foundation is dedicated to funding biomedical research, promoting coexistence, and supporting Jewish philanthropic initiatives. The foundation funds a wide range of sarcoma research topics, including understanding the molecular biology of sarcomas, exploring molecular targets for new therapies, studying chromosomal translocations, and more. To cultivate a world safe for difference, we support strategies to promote awareness and understanding of shared society principles, policies and practices to international, national, and local leaders and institutions. We foster collaborative efforts of shared society advocates and others whose work advances inter-group relations. We professionalize and build capacity of individual and collective effectiveness of practitioners in the field of shared society.
