The Sarcoma Coalition
The Sarcoma Coalition is dedicated to improving the lives of those affected by sarcoma through advocacy, education, and support. The mission and purpose are to come together to work on behalf of the Sarcoma patient-family community, to impact care and treatment. The Sarcoma Coalition is committed to support sarcoma research through collaborative opportunities to promote sarcoma research initiatives, explore co-funding opportunities, and post successful research collaborations. Sarcoma Coalition provides a bridge between the various subtypes and the research community to find common ground for the exploration of research initiatives. The Research Community reflects on the Sarcoma Coalition in understanding its role to help familiarize patients and families with what sarcoma is and general principles, provide understanding of clinical research, facilitate appropriate referrals to Academic Centers with Expertise in Sarcoma, and provide support groups for patients and families to discuss concerns and issues that they are experiencing. The Sarcoma Coalition meets quarterly throughout the year. Experts in various facets of the medical field offer presentations and discussions during the meetings. From the discussions, project initiatives may be formulated during Roundtable group discussions for strategic planning and execution of special projects that are agreed upon by the Coalition membership to enhance patient care and treatment.
