Children's Cancer Cause
Children’s Cancer Cause is a leading national advocacy organization dedicated to creating a brighter future for children with cancer, survivors, and their families. We promote policies and programs that aim to accelerate the development of safer, more effective cancer therapies for children and better address the unique needs and lifelong health challenges experienced by childhood cancer survivors and their families. Children’s Cancer Cause calls on the greater healthcare system and provider community to work toward the successful health care transition of more than 500,000 childhood cancer survivors, a growing population with unique long-term care needs. With generous support from Hyundai Hope on Wheels, we offer academic scholarships for childhood cancer survivors, plus the opportunity to gain valuable cancer advocacy experience. The College Scholars Program - which has now awarded scholarships to nearly 70 survivors - includes a cancer volunteer project of the student’s choice. Scholars receive support and mentorship from the Children’s Cancer Cause. Past scholarship winners have undertaken projects that include a community bone marrow drive, a podcast for other cancer survivors, and the formation of a campus cancer advocacy organization.
